Job Title: Quality Manager - Aerospace

Job Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role provides leadership across all quality functions, supports product safety and compliance, and drives continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Core Responsibilities

The Quality Manager leads compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA, and customer-specific requirements and serves as the primary interface with regulatory agencies and customers. This role manages internal, customer, and third-party audits, ensures effective corrective and preventive actions, and drives risk management and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include oversight of supplier quality, nonconformance management, root cause analysis, document control, change management, and quality metrics reporting. The Quality Manager partners with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to support new product introduction, first article inspections, process validation, and configuration control, while promoting a strong culture of quality, accountability, and ethical behavior.

Experience and Qualifications

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 5-10 years of progressive quality experience in aerospace or a highly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience managing AS9100-compliant Quality Management Systems
  • Proven experience leading internal, customer, and third-party audits
  • Strong background in corrective action, root cause analysis, and risk management
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and customer-specific aerospace requirements
  • Experience managing supplier quality, including audits and performance monitoring

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • ASQ certifications such as CQM, CQE, or Lead Auditor preferred

Skills and Competencies

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels. Exceptional attention to detail, analytical ability, and organizational skills. Comfortable working in fast-paced manufacturing environments and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and regulatory documentation.

Work Environment

Work is performed in both office and manufacturing settings. Periodic travel may be required for customer visits, supplier audits, or regulatory reviews.
